As the name implies, these local scene veterans take a variety of sounds and melt them together....

They incorporate swing time jazz, world beats, novelty music, blues, tango, psychedelia and twisted takes on covers into their Melting rockstew.....

Bassist Paul Pipitone had been on the local circuit for several years and was looking to do something new that combined elements that were dynamic and jarring yet still melodic, but most importantly-fun. Initially, he wanted to combine punk, art rock, goth and funk.

A kindred spirit was found in guitarist Danny Modern, also a veteran of the Boston rock scene.  Danny’s style is a combination of alternative atmospherics that can quickly change on a dime to crunching rock or soaring blues.

The two writing styles and personalities complimented immediately, enabling them to work up a batch of songs after a few short months.  Now to find a singer who'd want to take on a wide variety of styles who could sing them all convincingly....

Enter Lindsey Kyte, classically trained soprano extraordinaire.  Her background was in musical theatre and in choirs, not rock.   Her main inspirations are Simone Simons from Epica for power, Sarah Brightman for range and control, and Amy Lee of Evanesence for her haunting vocal quality.  Using these styles and mixing them with her sometimes quirky personality - Lindsey immediately complimented the band in new and exciting ways.

Over the past few years, Melt has played with and gotten friendly with popular local group The Liz Borden Band, and their powerful and versatile drummer John Kokas.  John helped as a fill-in drummer in the past and recently agreed to do double duty in both bands.  John brings a dynamic sense of rhythm rooted in rock, but also contains elements of prog, fusion, latin, mediterranean, and african drumming styles. These influences create a unique style that works well with the driving and original sounds of Melt, and the others couldn't be more thrilled to have him aboard.

They've just finished recording a second EP at Yebba Studios in Norwood, Ma. It's 6 high powered, dynamic rock songs and it's called Earthquakes.
